How You Can Help During the COVID-19 Outbreak
Stay Safe. Do Good.
As the number of coronavirus cases around the world continues to grow, thousands of people, from small businesses, to the elderly, children, and healthcare workers have been affected. Following guidelines on social distancing and local restrictions for self-quarantine are a great way to help. However, if you are looking for other ways to help, we’ve put together a list of 4 organizations bringing relief on a local, national, and global level:
LOCAL
The Seattle Foundation: This coalition of philanthropic business and government partners is rapidly deploying resources to local Puget Sound community-based organizations and families most affected by the coronavirus crisis.
Artist Trust: Artist Trust has created a growing list of response & recovery resources for artists in Washington State + they have created a COVID-19 support fund.
PAACHN will donate 1% of our 2020 revenue to the Artist Trust COVID-19 support fund.
NATIONAL
No Hungry Kid: No Hungry Kid uses donations to make sure families have resources to feed kids in communities that are affected by mass school closures caused by the pandemic.
GLOBAL
Direct Relief: Direct Relief is coordinating with public health authorities, nonprofit organizations and businesses in the U.S., China and globally to provide personal protective equipment and essential medical items to health workers responding to coronavirus (COVID-19).
Other things you can do:
- Stay in touch with family, friends, and colleagues with phone calls or video chats. Especially seniors who may live alone.
- Buy gift cards from local restaurants, coffee shops, and other local businesses that are taking a hit. Purchase online and save for another day.
- Support your favorite local artists and musicians by purchasing from their store or donating directly via Venmo, PayPal, Cash App or Patreon.
- Practice social distancing.
- Wash your hands.
Be curious, be adventurous, and live w/ passion.
